This is really a beautiful tank. Regarding your H. eques, they are almost as colorful as those in the wild; were they as colorful from the start or they gain color while acclimating to this wonderful setting, or when they grew bigger or you think it is in relation to the food you give them?
Also, it seems that the black vertical mark between the head and dorsal clearly visible on some pictures on the web, is absent. Do you think this related to intense breeding and a loss of that mark, or depending on the geographical origin of breeders?

The color was present but soon intensified. The lack / presence of the stain I think depends on the location. If it was due to the intensive multiplication, I think it would have lost its color. They receive frozen red larvae and pellets from Spectrum.
