I think you could make such biotope aquarium yourself, even better.
Mine is not biotope, it is just an natural aquarium inspiration: beside H. eques, I have one male Amatitlania altoflava, 6 Corydoras paleatus and some molly babies (tank cleaners
The only plant of the biotope is Heteranthera zosterifolia.
To reveal the "full" aspect of the biotope, I would choose a bigger volume and dimensions, maybe a "classical" 450 liters 150x60x50, with quite some unidirectionnal medium flow with one or two big bushes of Heteranthera zosterifolia near the in flow, that could grow up to 2/3 of the tank and one other lower dense patch around a piece of drift wood towards the other end. The substrate must be quite clear with debris. The back ground should be bluish and light quite intense, and very good flitration.
The advantage is that water can be neutral even slightly basic and a GH 10 is ok. I found out that it is actually the perfect conditions for the growth of Heteranthera zosterifolia, an easy plant that I have to prune almost every couple of weeks in my aquarium.
The question is what available fish species of reasonable size can be placed beside H. eques.
